- Chronicles of Concrete
Chronicles of Concrete captures the rhythm, energy, and spirit of a day in New York City. The journey begins at sunrise with the iconic clarinet solo from Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, evoking the city awakening to life. The pulse builds in Oliver Reynolds Davis’s Every Day, painting the bustle of morning commutes and crowded streets. In the heart of the day, the reflective beauty of Pat Metheny’s Letter from Home blends with the soaring lines of Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind, celebrating the city’s emotional core and its sense of possibility. The show closes with Adam Schoenberg’s Pigeons in Flight from Picture Studies, a whirlwind finale symbolizing the constant motion, diversity, and vibrant energy that define the city that never sleeps.
