MULTI-DAY WORKSHOPS

Led by Frank Troyka, high school students follow an intensive curriculum of music and visual techniques taught by Blue Devils alumni and current instructional team members. Separate tracks for winds, percussion, guard and drum majors provide hands-on training for two days before spending a full day with the Blue Devils. Special guests from the Bluecoats faculty will be part of the August 3-4 Events at Case Western University in Ohio. The multi-day workshops are capped off by attending a DCI competition featuring the Blue Devils and other top DCI corps.

DCI DAY OF EVENT CLINICS

DCI Day of Event Clinics provide high school students and educators with an introduction to the corps-in-residence before attending an evening DCI competition. Attendees take part in a leadership session before participating in a side-by-side experience alongside corps members and then have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the corps' production during the ensemble rehearsals.

The Santa Clara Vanguard events will be a full-day and feature an intensive experience with the corps' faculty providing an extended version of the DCI Day of Event Clinics and also include two meals. The June 16 does not have an associated DCI event ticket.

LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The newest of USBands' program offerings provides a leadership workshop for drum majors, guard captains and section leaders on intermediate and advanced skills needed to lead successful marching band programs through the rigorous rehearsal, performance and competition schedule. Meanwhile, attendees will hone leadership skills and traits transferable to their future academic and professional pursuits.
