2022 Fall Season
- Forged
Metal.
It is a look, a feeling, a sound. Whether precious as gold or strong as steel, the power and glitter of metal has driven civilizations to rise and fall. Battles were won and lost given the strength of the metal armies wielded. We express love, admiration, and affection with the giving of golden gifts. It can be cold and menacing, or warm and glowing. Metal’s sound is a universal touchstone, evoking the ring of the church bell, the clanging of an alarm, or the clash of battle.
Our 2022 production explores the multitude of uses, imagery, sounds, and emotions evoked by metal. The show opens with the sounds of forging metal, an ancient art that yields items of enormous beauty but also terrible violence.
Our second movement explores the glitter of gold, the jealousy it can engender, and the ecstasy its beauty can evoke.
The third portion of our show explores the sounds of Metal in music, including Heavy Metal and Rock. Our constant allusion to the many sounds and musical compositions inspired by metal builds to an exciting conclusion!â€
