Walt Whitman Wildcat Marching Band
2021 Program
- Dia de los Muertos
Walt Whitman presents Dia De Los Muertos, the celebration of the "day of the dead". Dia de los Muertos is about friends and family members who are no longer living. However, every year their spirits returns to celebrate with their living family throughout the holiday. Marigolds, with their orange color, symbolize the life force these souls still have within the universe. They visit as a skeleton of their once living self. The holiday is not about mourning, but rather the memories of those that have died and one day will be reunited in the afterlife.
