2021 Program

Looped

Loop is one of the few words in the English language that is both a verb and a noun. It is an action as well as an object which makes it one of the more intriguing ideas to consider in creation. Not only is a loop a visual idea in regards to circles, infinity symbols and more, but also a layered idea where one can combine unique fragmented ideas and textures over each other to develop complex musical and visual creations. It is through these forms of combining multiple ideas together, we can enhance even the simplest elements. Loops can occur through layers but also through nature as well. The natural echo that gives us the dimension of our auditory lives loops ideas over itself. The dimensions that loops develop can create captivating moments for both the performer and listener often causing them to be thrown for a loop.
