
LaToya Brooks is a native of Atlanta, GA, where she has served as a Performing Arts educator for over 20 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Clark Atlanta University, a Master of Science in Music Education from Tennessee State University, and an Education Specialist from Piedmont University.
LaToya has taught band, chorus, and drama across all grade levels. She served as Assistant Director of Bands at Clark Atlanta University and later as a band director in the metro Atlanta area. Her ensembles consistently earned superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluations and Solo and Ensemble Festivals. She has served as District Secretary for the Georgia Music Educators Association and has hosted numerous district events.
LaToya was awarded the prestigious CBDNA Mike Moss Conducting Grant, which allowed her to attend one of the nation's top conducting symposiums. There, she had the opportunity to study under and collaborate with several renowned conductors, further refining her skills on the podium.
She currently serves as the Elementary Music Specialist at Bolton Academy, where she inspires young students to explore and enjoy music. In recognition of her excellence in teaching, she was recently named Teacher of the Year. LaToya also works as an instrumental clinician and conductor across metro Atlanta and surrounding areas.
She is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
LaToya resides in Atlanta with her husband, Adam, and their daughters, Aria, Skylar, and Kai.
