
Nick Smiroldo began his career in the marching arts as a member of the Webster High School Marching Band from Webster, NY in 2002.
Nick has been involved in the marching arts for over 20 years. He has performed with The Webster High School Marching, The Empire Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps, Cadets 2 Drum and Bugle Corps, as well as Spectrum Winterguard. He began as a trumpet and mellophone player but ultimately fell in love with colorguard and joined the Empire Statesmen's guard in 2010.
In 2008 he began his teaching career as a visual tech for Webster High School Marching Band. He would go on to teach with Webster in various roles over the years, including; Visual Tech, Visual Caption Head, Colorguard Tech, Colorguard Caption Head, and Show Coordinator/Designer. In 2021 he took on the role of show coordinator and helped design the bands first state championship win in over 30 years. His other teaching credits include Phoenix High School Marching Band(2011), Phoenix Varsity and JV Winterguard(2011), South Brunswick Visual Ensemble(2014-2016), Cicero North Syracuse Varsity Winterguard (2017*WGI Bronze Medalist*-2022). In 2023 Nick stopped teaching full time and started the transition to becoming a consultant and an adjudicator for the Midyork and Northeast colorguard circuits.
Currently, Nick lives in Rochester, NY where he is the Resident Program Coordinator and Administrative Assistant for Pediatric Dentistry at Eastman Institute for Oral Health.
