Following in the footsteps of his dad Bob Sr., Bob Mulvanity Jr. is a second-generation participant in the marching arts. He began his marching career at seven years old with the Chuting Stars Drum & Bugle Corps of Danvers, MA. Over the next 50 + years Bob has transitioned from a performer to teaching staff, visual designer, show coordinator, director, and adjudicator. His involvement includes drum corps, marching band, winter guard, and winter percussion. His groups have been successful participants in DCI, WGI, NESBA, and MBDA, with several appearances as finalist and/or champions. In 2014 Bob was elected to the Massachusetts Drum Corps and Music Educators Hall of Fame.
Currently as a member of the Massachusetts Judges Association, Bob adjudicates all visual captions for both fall and winter seasons. This includes marching band, winter guard, and winter percussion.
Outside of the pageantry activity, Bob lives in Somerville with his long-time design team partner and wife Bridget. He recently retired from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts after serving for 42 years with the Executive Office of Public Safety.
