• Teaching experience: Winter Guard: St Anthony’s Imperial, Quasar, Erte, Emerald Marquis, Suburbanettes Open, NY Royal Guardsmen, Miamisburg HS, Choctawhatchee HS, Lawrence Central HS, 27th Lancers Winter Guard, Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard, 27th Lancers, Garfield Cadets, Cadets, Star of Indiana, Santa Clara Vanguard
• Lead clinician and consultant at Band camps and clinics domestic and international
• Judge fall band for NESBA, MBDA, USBANDS and other circuits around the US
I stay current in pageantry in the following manner:
• Watching, listening, and speaking with instructors at all pageantry levels.
• Draw inspiration from art, theatre, film, ballet, and modern movement companies.
• Study winter guard, drum corps, bands, dance and acrobatics.
• Learn from experienced mentors in judging captions I’m pursuing.
• Attend live performances to experience performers’ expressive qualities.
• Learn from peers and friends who specialize in performance and excel at motivating individuals to fully embody characters.
• As a director and designer/technician who has created World Championship guards and drum corps, I understand what it takes to reach and remain at that level. Success demands training, skill development, performance education, teamwork, commitment, as well as careful management of logistics and costs, all of which are essential in building and sustaining a top competitive organization.
• WGI Hall of Fame class of 2000, the Massachusetts Drum Corps Hall of Fame class of 2012, DCI Hall of Fame class of 2016, and World Drum Corps Hall of Fame class of 2021.
