
Michaelene Kumer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to college, she completed over 15 years of extensive dance training at the Point Park University Conservatory, as well as the professional school of Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. She is also a trained musician, having studied both flute and voice for several years.
She began baton twirling at the age of 5. By 10, she had added flag/rifle to her repertoire. Sabre training began shortly thereafter. Her performance credentials include the Golden Triangle Performance Ensemble, Markette Winter Guard, East Allegheny HS Visual Ensemble, and the University of Pittsburgh Golden Girls. Professionally, she was a feature performer at Busch Gardens Tampa, where she also served as Dance Captain. She has over 20 years of teaching experience. She currently is on staff for the Golden Triangle Performance Ensemble. In judging, she has been employed by USBands, Massachusetts Judges Association, Pennsylvania Federation of Contest Judges, Maine Band Directors Association, and Musical Arts Conference. She currently sits on the Management Board of MJA.
Michaelene currently resides in Boston MA. Professionally, she is the Senior Program Lead of the Graduate School of Nursing @ the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.
