Karen became active in the marching band arena as part of the Judson High School band in Converse, TX. She then became a band parent / chaperone / Treasurer for the Claudia Taylor Johnson (CTJ) High School band in San Antonio, TX and enjoyed attending and assisting at UIL, BOA, and WGI events as well as a 2015 trip to the Rose Bowl Parade. Even though her children have all graduated, Karen stayed involved with the CTJ band through volunteering and fundraising efforts and also helped start a 501(c)3 non-profit Foundation to help raise money for the bands of Claudia Taylor Johnson to include CTJ High School, Tejeda Middle School, and Tex Hill Middle School. This is her first year as an Adjudication Technician with USBands.
