Aaron Barnes resides in San Antonio and works as a drill writer and marching instructor for high school bands. He began teaching marching and movement skills at North Penn High School in Pennsylvania. While working at North Penn, Aaron was a part of the team that led the Marching Knights to five USSBA class championships. In 2010 He joined the team at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School in San Antonio, TX as the visual caption head and was a part of the team that developed the program into having national success. During his time there, CTJ’s achievements there included BOA San Antonio Super Regional Championships in 2014 & 2017, a UIL State Championship in 2020, and 4 BOA Grand National Finalist appearances. Over a 20 year career, Aaron has been a part of visual staffs with several World Class Drum & Bugle Corps including Jersey Surf, The Crossmen, Boston Crusaders, The Cadets, and most recently as a Co-Visual Caption Head at the Blue Stars.
