Originally from Virginia, Nicole is a multi-talented professional who has worked in various roles such as clinician, designer, technician, and visual instructor for scholastic and independent guards, marching bands, drum corps, and indoor drumlines across the East Coast, Midwest, and Texas.
During the late 1990s, Nicole performed for two years with Revelation Winterguard, an independent A Class winter guard, and fell in love with the sport after her first season. In 1999, she marched her Patriots Drum Corps in Rochester, NY, where the Patriots won a Division II gold DCI age-out at medal. After aging out of A-class competition with Revelation, Nicole moved to Rochester to perform with World Class Patriots Winterguard from 2000-2003. Nicole's passion for the marching arts continued to grow, and she went on to perform with the Rochester Crusaders in DCA, and later on with Empire Statesmen.
Nicole has been teaching since the early 2000s in various states, including NY, VA, NC, TX, OH, MS, IA, and KY. She discovered her love for teaching at a Marching Band camp in Virginia. Nicole is also the founder of The Cookout, a Council Member of Our Marching Counts, a member of the WGI Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, and a host of the Podcast: On A Waterbreak.
Currently, Nicole resides in Cincinnati, OH, where she works in the Oncology department of an emergency vet hospital. She will be serving on the colorguard staff at The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps this summer while furthering her adjudication education for indoor and outdoor pageantry. This is Nicole’s second year with US Bands and she is happy to be back.
