Edward Griffin

Eddie Griffin is a musician, educator, and professional in the New York City metropolitan region. He is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where he studied euphonium and brass pedagogy with Aaron Vanderweele, Alan Baer, and Jerry Peel. Eddie also studied conducting with Todd Nichols and Darryl Bott, while performing with the award-winning Rutgers Wind Ensemble, Spectrum Quartet, and Brass Ensemble.

Eddie is a member of the Eastern Wind Symphony, and performed with them in 2021 at the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. He has played baritone and euphonium with many of the region’s top brass bands including the Princeton Brass Band, Atlantic Brass Band, Imperial Brass, Rutgers Brass Band, and the Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York.

Eddie has served as a director, designer, and instructor for several ensembles in New Jersey. He worked as a designer and lead instructor with J.P. Stevens High School from 2015-2021, helping the band become perennial finalists at Bands of America regional contests. Other marching bands he has worked with include West Essex, Westfield, Monroe Township, Bridgewater-Raritan, Mount Olive, and Toms River North. Since 2018, Eddie has worked with the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps as a brass instructor, caption head, and supervisor. His time with the Bushwackers has seen the corps achieve their first return to the top-five and top-three in DCA finals competition in over a decade.

Outside of music, Eddie works in education technology as an IT and Programming Specialist. He is married to his wife, Lauryn, and they reside in Middlesex, NJ with their two dogs.
