Stephen Keiser

A native of Newark, Delaware, Stephen Keiser served as President of Apex Youth Services, Inc. (AYS) from 1999-2013. AYS, Inc. offered three independent winter guard programs: Apex Winter Guard, Bpex Winter Guard, and Cpex Winter Guard. While designing and instructing for all three programs, Stephen’s primary position was as director and instructor for the WGI world class program, Apex Winter Guard. Throughout the 14-year period, the AYS programs achieved multiple successes locally and nationally, including WGI finalist and medalist status.

In the outdoor arena, Stephen aged-out from Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps and went on to design and instruct for drum and bugle corps, which included color guard caption head positions at Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps (DCI) and Reading Drum & Bugle Corps (DCA). Stephen designed and instructed for multiple high school marching band and winter guard programs in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. On the collegiate level, he was color guard caption head of Towson University “Tiger” Marching Band from 2004-2013. Stephen currently is a color guard instructor for the University of Delaware “Pride of Delaware” Marching Band.

Stephen has served as an adjudicator for Midwest Color Guard Circuit (MWCGC), Midcontinent Color Guard Association (MCCGA), Michigan Color Guard Circuit (MCGC), Heartland Winter Arts Association(HWAA), Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC), and Atlantic Indoor Association (AIA), and Mid-America Competing Band Directors Association (MACBDA).

Relocating to Virginia, Stephen works full time as Chief Operations and Growth Officer for University of Virginia Community Health. Previously, Stephen served as Vice President of Operations for Beebe Medical Group in Lewes Delaware, Director of Operations for Northwestern Medicine, Director of Inpatient Practice Operations for Christiana Care Health System and Assistant Vice President for The Bank of New York. Stephen received The Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Delaware.
