Kyle Friesenhahn is retired Director of Bands at Byron P. Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas. She is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Music Education. While at SWTSU, Kyle studied conducting under the late James Sudduth. Mrs. Friesenhahn's thirty-seven year career started in Seguin, Texas, where she directed various bands for six
years. She also was assistant band director at Luling High School for three years where she worked with Pat Norton. Mrs. Friesenhahn then became the head band director at La Vernia High School for five years and was employed in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City District for twenty years until her retirement in May 2012.
Among the many accomplishments her bands have achieved, the Steele HS Band performed at Carnegie Hall in 2007 and 2011, was featured at the pre-game and half-time of the 2009 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana, and received all superior ratings as director of bands at Steele High School since its opening in 2005.
Mrs. Friesenhahn is a member of Texas Music Educator's Association, Texas Bandmaster's Association, Texas Music Adjudicator's Association and Phi.
Kyle Friesenhahn lives in McQueeney, TX on the family farm with her husband and 10 rescue dogs.
