Theodora (Teddi) Sotiropoulos
Theodora Sotiropoulos is currently an Adjunct Professor in the John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University, where she conducts the Campus Band/Community Band and teaches Elementary Instrumental Conducting. She also serves as the visual caption head with the Northern Valley Old Tappan Marching Band. Prior to this Teddi was the Director of Bands at Northern Highlands Regional School in Allendale, NJ. Under her direction the NH Marching Band won 3 Yamaha Cup titles, 3 State Championships and 3 National Championships in the US Bands competitive circuit. She holds a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Illinois and an M.M. in Wind Music Conducting from the University of South Florida, where her principal teachers included Dr. Harry Begian and Dr. Mallory Thompson. Miss Sotiropoulos received the 1999 Governor’s Teacher of the Year Award for Northern Highlands Regional High School and was a quarterfinalist in the Grammy Music Educator Awards in 2016. Her NHRHS ensembles have performed in Disney World, Universal Studios, Williamsburg, Virginia, Chicago, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

Teddi is also a proud former member of the Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps from 2000-2008. She played mellophone and held the positions of section leader and brass captain.
