Samantha "Sam" DeVos
Pronouns - She/Her

Samantha became active in the marching arts in 1998, as a student with Northern Burlington County Regional High School. Samantha's school marched in the circuit. In 2001, Samantha had the opportunity to enjoy a memorable year being undefeated and first in her class during the fall season. From 2002 - 2004, Samantha led the ensemble as a marching captain. Samantha’s passion was not just shown on the field. Samantha was part of jazz ensemble, concert band, wind ensemble, musical, pit orchestra and chorus.

In 2005, while pursuing a degree in Music Education at William Patterson University, Samantha knew she couldn't just walk away from marching band, after all, it was her life for the past 6 years so Samantha joined the team (USSBA) alongside her father, a devoted band parent. Samantha and her father worked side by side covering many of our local shows and traveled all across the state of NJ and PA to ensure that students had a great experience, just like Samantha did while in marching band. Samantha has grown from that little 7th grader that once performed for the organization to one of our core senior veterans that do everything in their power to make the student's marching experiences a great one.

Since then Samantha is now entering her 18th year with USBands, and she is excited to make every show a memorable one for all of the students. Although Samantha did not continue her career in music education, she is still a huge advocate for students and their musicals abilities. Samantha’s advocacy has spread to other facets of her life. Samantha has spent the last 12 years working with adults and children diagnosed with a variety of disabilities to include Autism. Samantha, alongside with others, spends the majority of her time running a day program for adults with Autism. Working in her career field is not easy by any means, but with her dedication and determination we know that she will continue to succeed and continue to make the world a better place.
