Rachel Ewaniuk started playing trumpet in the 4th grade in the school band. By 6th grade, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in music. In 10th grade she began taking private lessons with principal trumpet for the Philly Pops Orchestra, Ken Brader. Under Ken’s guidance, she was able to audition into the music department at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania where she pursued a degree in Music Education & Music Technology.

While at Mansfield, she studied under trumpet professor Dr. Michael Galloway, who had performed in many ensembles including the U.S. Marine Band. In addition to studying trumpet, Rachel also took secondary lessons on Euphonium with Mr. Stephen McEuen.

Rachel auditioned into the University Concert Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and the Jazz Lab Band. She also performed with the University Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Brass Band and Trombone Choir.

Rachel graduated in May 2011 with a B.M. in Music Education and Music Technology. In 2018, she graduated from Indiana University with a masters degree in Music Technology. She spent her first year teaching as a Long Term Substitute teaching elementary general music in the Exeter Township School District. Currently she is teaching 6-8th Instrumental at the Arts Academy Charter Middle School.

Rachel spent several summers marching and playing with a drum & bugle corps. She has marched with the 6 time DCA world champion Bushwackers Drum and Bugle corps (2012, 2013, 2014) playing lead trumpet and being a soloist. She then spent three seasons on the Brass Staff for the Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps (2015, 2016, 2017).
