My formal Education was an awesome five years (1979-1984) spent at New Jersey City University as a Music Education/ Percussion Performance Major I was very fortunate to be part of an amazing Music / percussion dept. The percussion department was headed by one NYC most sought after Broadway Theater Musical Directors and percussionist Nick Cerrato From there I headed west to Sacramento Ca. where I was the Front Ensemble Arranger and instructor for The Sacramento Freelancers Drum Corps 1984 and 1985 seasons. After spending two years teaching in the Bay Area, I headed to Southern California. In the Fall of
1986. I had the pleasure of being hired as the Front Ensemble Arranger / Asst. Caption Head of percussion for The Velvet Knights drum corps, for the 1987 and 88 seasons.
During this time, I was also fortunate to be part of the percussion section that recorded most of the Hal Leonard Publishing Co. Marching Band and percussion ensemble Arrangements .
A couple of years later I began teaching as the percussion adjunct at Long Beach City College I taught private lessons and Percussion Ensemble from 1991-1993. I currently teach percussion for the Arts and Learning Conservatory in Orange County and have been teaching percussion for the Santa Ana Unified School District. since 2006.
Professional Experience
Eddie has been working as a professional drummer/ percussionist for the past 35yrs. in Los Angels and abroad. Originally from NJ after finishing 5 years as Music Education major at New Jersey City University major Eddie moved to Los Angels in 1987. His work ranged from teaching HS and College percussion to playing percussion with Caribbean drum and dance ensembles and Voice Over sessions. In the early 90's he began performing and recording with top RB, Soul, Funk, Contemporary Jazz and Caribbean Artists. They include Gerald LeVert, Rick James, Charlie Wilson, David Rudder, Calypso Rose, Mighty Sparrow, Robert Grenich, Cart Mcgreger, Panjive, Einstein Brown, Doyle Mckiney, Max Benitt, Jeff Kashiwa, Scott Wilkie, Antonio Banderas, John Forbes, Oliver Lieber, Martin Tillman, Paul Bushnell, Bridget McWilliams, CeCe Makayla Actress for the hit shows "Girtfriends" and the " Steve Harvey Show", Johnnie Fiori, FdeLuxe, Desmond Childs, Jackie Deshannon, Danny Peck, Charo, Beth Hart, Bill Bergman, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Antigone Rising, Oscar winning film composer Jerry Goldsmith, TV and Film Composer Les Hooper, Mega Trax Productions, Hal Leonard Publishing, Saban
