
Dave Dumont – Percussion Director, Arranger, Educator, Judge
Dave began his drum corps career at age 15, marching with the Connecticut Hurricanes, Hawthorne Caballeros, and Syracuse Brigadiers (2002–2005). He also performed with WGI PIW group Project Percussion in 2005, the Crossmen in 2006, and aged out with The Cadets in 2007, earning a silver medal—all on snare drum.
Since 2010, Dave has served as Percussion Director at Norwalk High School in Connecticut. His ensembles have earned six PSO medals and frequent WGI finals appearances. He has arranged and consulted for programs across Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania.
His teaching and consulting credits include the Hawthorne Caballeros, Connecticut Hurricanes, Fusion Core, CWP, The Cadets, and Cadets². At Cadets², he served as Percussion Director from the corps’ inception in 2012 through 2018. The ensemble earned a High Percussion title and the Overall Championship in 2016.
Dave is currently the Percussion Director for the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps, where he also serves as Designer and Battery Arranger. He recently joined the staff of the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.
He has been a USBands judge since 2012. He was appointed Percussion Judge Coordinator for the Musical Arts Conference in 2023.
