John A. Saint Amour has conducted opera, musical theatre, ballet, bands, orchestras and choirs including positions with the Washington (DC) Symphony Orchestra, Vienna (VA), Concert Band, Rockville (MD) Concert Band, and Library of Congress Chorale. He has held positions with the Philharmonia of Greensboro, Capital Worship Orchestra, Library of Congress Chamber Orchestra, and Virginia Grand Military Band on horn, and voice with Library of Congress Chorale, National Philharmonic Chorale, Syracuse Vocal Ensemble, and the American University Singers for TNT’s Christmas in Washington. He co-founded Arts United of Washington, creating original productions combining music, theatre and modern dance. As an educator, he taught voice, music theory, and drama at Union Springs (NY) HS, and was Director of Bands at Thomasville (NC) HS where the band won numerous championships and superior ratings. He also taught band at the Fillmore Arts Center with DCPS. He is currently Deputy Head of Public Information at the US Copyright Office. He has provided copyright law presentations to groups such as, American Federation of Musicians, Major Orchestra Librarians Association (MOLA), The Recording Academy (GRAMMY), American Library Association, the CIA, and NASA. He developed a copyright curriculum for the middle school learner. In 2017, he received the AIPLA Award recognizing outstanding contribution to the integrity of Intellectual Property Laws in America. 2024 marks Saint Amour's 19th season as an adjudicator with USBands.
