Neil Larrivee

Neil Larrivee is a highly respected figure in the drum corps, marching band, and indoor percussion communities, recognized for his impactful contributions as an instructor, arranger, and designer.

He served as Front Ensemble Director and Arranger for the Cadets Drum Corps from 1993 to 2008, contributing to four DCI World Championships and four High Percussion Awards—honors that led to his induction into the Cadets Hall of Fame. Neil later served as Front Ensemble Director and Arranger for the Blue Stars Drum Corps from 2010 to 2012 and returned to the Cadets from 2019 to 2022 as Front Ensemble Facilitator and Caption Manager.

Neil’s educational legacy includes over 17 years at King Philip Regional High School, where he served as Co-Marching Band Director, Percussion Director, and Arranger. During his tenure, the marching band and Indoor Percussion Ensemble earned numerous accolades, including four Bands of America (BOA) Regional Championships, two BOA Grand National Semi-Finalist placements, the 2000 BOA Grand National AA Bronze Medal, and the 2000 WGI Scholastic World Championship in Percussion. The ensembles also earned second place finishes in WGI Percussion Scholastic World Class in 1997, 1998, and 2001, and second place in the 2001 WGI Scholastic Concert World Class.

From 2004 to 2010, Neil served as Front Ensemble Arranger for Dartmouth High School’s Indoor Percussion Ensemble, helping the group achieve top-three finishes every year in WGI Scholastic World Class, including championship titles in 2008 and 2009.

His excellence has been recognized through inductions into the Massachusetts Drum Corps and Music Educators Hall of Fame, the Winter Guard International Hall of Fame, and the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame.

Neil remains active as a designer, instructor, clinician, and adjudicator for organizations across the country, including WGI, USBands, and SCPA. He also serves as the Massachusetts Chapter President for the Percussive Arts Society and is a proud educational artist with Innovative Percussion, Remo, Yamaha, and Zildjian.

Outside of his professional work, Neil is an avid concertgoer who enjoys live performances of jazz, orchestral, opera, contemporary chamber music, musical theatre, and ballet whether in Boston or wherever his travels take him.
