
Scott Pizani has over 45 years of experience in the pageantry arts as a performer, instructor, designer and director. He has served as an adjudicator for Winter Guard International (WGI), Drum Corps International (DCI), Western Bands Association (WBA), USBands, Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA), California Color Guard Circuit (CCGC), Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC), Texas Color Guard Circuit (TCGC), North Texas Color Guard Association (NTCA), Southern Association of Performing Arts (SAPA), Carolina Winter Ensemble Association (CWEA), Indiana High School Color Guard Association (IHSCGA) and various other marching band and color guard circuits across the county. As a performer, Scott was a member of the Emerald Marquis Winter Guard from Boston, Massachusetts.
He has served as the Director / Designer of the James Logan High School Color Guard and Winter Guard from Union City, California, South Lafourche High School Color Guard and Winter Guard from Galliano, Louisiana, Nicholls State University Color Guard from Thibodaux, Louisiana and Dutch Boy Drum and Bugle Corps from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
In addition, he has been an instructor / clinician with Marching Auxiliaries (MA), has taught summer color guard camps and leadership clinics throughout the country. He also was a designer / instructor for the opening ceremonies of the 1988 World's Fair Exposition in Sydney / Brisbane, Australia.
Scott has a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. He taught middle and high school for six years at National Blue Ribbon Award Winning Schools by the US Department of Education and California Distinguished Schools. He was a "Master Teacher" for student teachers and interns in coordination with California State University - East Bay. He served as Principal of Guy Emanuele Jr. Elementary School which was initially recognized as a California Distinguished School under his tenure. He also served as Coordinator of Prevention and Intervention Services and subsequently the Director of K-12 Teaching and Learning for eleven years. After 32 years in public education, in 2023, Scott retired as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning / Curriculum and Instruction for the New Haven Unified School District in Union City, California.
In April 2023, he was recognized as the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 6 (San Francisco Bay Area - East Bay) Central Office Administrator of the Year. Additionally, he served as an Association of California School Administrators (ASCA) Certified Leadership Coach for California school administrators seeking their California Clear Administrative Credential. In retirement, he continues to provide Executive Administrative Professional Coaching for California school administrators.
Scott currently serves as the Color Guard Judge's Coordinator for the Texas Color Guard Circuit. In addition, he currently is a designer for the South Lafourche High School Marching Band, current 4A Louisiana State Champions and the South Lafourche High School Winter Guard, current Scholastic A Class Bronze Medalists of the Louisiana Mississippi Color Guard and Percussion (LMCGPC) Circuit.
Scott currently resides in Las Vegas / Henderson, Nevada.
